Our many years of experience in research and development in both technology and marine biology provides us the ability to produce some of the world’s highest quality nutrient-rich phytoplankton strains at a large production scale.
We believe that controlled phytoplankton production offers substantially improved safety and product consistency over both ‘open pond’ and ‘wild harvested’ methods of phytoplankton production and harvesting.
In addition, our unique phytoplankton cultivation and drying process provide a powder finish product that has a mild taste and smell, when compared to other phytoplankton products offered in the market. This allows the product to be more easily consumed in powder form, across a broader range of smoothie and food recipes. CLIMATE-SMART HIGH-TECH, BASED ON NATURE'S OWN SOLUTIONS
At the algae farm in northern Europe, we grow our algae in over 1500 square meters of greenhouses. On site at our production facility, we have a laboratory where we grow our starter cultures under very advanced laboratory conditions. Our manufacturing partner is a vertically integrated micro-algae producer, which controls the whole process from maintaining pure strain cultures, to scaling them up to full scale production , all on our advanced algae farm facility.
Our technology combines aspects used in the latest indoor vertical farming, with modern aquaculture biotechnology. The micro-algae grow by natural photosynthesis in closed glass tubular systems where they are continuously circulated in our own pure salt water. This controlled method of production allows us to obtain a finished product which is ecologically sustainable, free from environmental toxins and packed with maximal amounts of Omega-3, vitamins, phytonutrients and antioxidants. We only use natural food grade ingredients in our production process, applying gentle mechanical technology that protects the sensitive nutrients and ensures superior product quality. The water that is separated from the algae by centrifugation is then recovered and recycled into the culture again, so that new algae can grow. The harvested, fresh algae paste is finally dried using a unique soft drying process that ensures all the nutrients are left in tack with their full potency in the finished dried powder product.
